My name is Stephen Annunziata, I am a 19 year old college sophomore from the middle class suburbs of Westchester, NY, and this is a blog of my day to day life, when it comes to distractions, priorities, work, school, and keeping up with my mental health. The original reason as to why I decided to do WCC online last semester was to avoid the possibility of over paying for a 4 year school and having covid send us home, many of my friends from highschool made the same decision so freshman year was a breeze. My daily life consisted of going to school, going to work, and then meeting up with my friends. As we began to enter our sophomore year I realized many of those friends who stayed home last year have decided to go away to school. At this point I had already committed to staying home this year and getting my associates degree from westchester. It has become undeniably clear that I am faced with a major obstacle, boredom. I am the type of person that always needs to be doing something, whether its playing sports, hanging out with my friends or family, or getting entrenched in a TV series. The issue with this is that my friends are all away at college, my older brother/ best friend is also away, my parents work a lot, and for some reason I haven’t been able to get into TV shows recently. This blog will follow my day to day attempts to better myself, whether that be getting good grades, making progress in the gym, or continuing to find my true self. A list of a few things I plan to help as a distraction when boredom strikes is as follows; fantasy football (my favorite thing in the world), working out, starting a podcast, and visiting 2 of my good friends on the upper east side of Manhattan. This blog will follow the events I choose to embark on, on a daily basis, I hope to become a more spiritual person, and become closer with nature over the next year. My whole life I have been the classic highschool athelete, played football, had a bunch of friends, went to parties and for the most gave off the impression of a shallow person, since the pandemic hit and we all spent so much time inside I really got to reflect on the person that I am and the person I would like to become and I will focus on taking strides to become my ideal version of myself. I look forward to keeping this blog to not only expand myself as a writer but to also keep myself accountable for the things I told myself I was going to achieve this semester.
